A Very Old Shakira Video
I hope you enjoy this. This is from immediately before Shakira broke internationally.
Chorus in original Spanish
estoy aqui quierendote,
ahogandome
entre fotos y cuandernos
entre cosas y recuerdos
eue no puedo comprender
estoy enloqueciendome
cambiandome un pie por la
cara mía
esta noche por el día
y nada le puedo yo hacer
Behold the limitations of Google Language Tools:
I am quierendote,
ahogandome
here between photos and cuander
between things and memories
to us eue I cannot include/understand
I am enloqueciendome
cambiandome
a foot by the face
mine tonight by the day
and anything him I can do

Barranquilla Women As Mail-Order Brides
I wasn't looking for a mail-order bride. I was trying to find a picture of the Shakira statue is Barranquilla. I was suprised to find out that the singer's hometown is a major source of mail-order brides.
Men in America and elsewhere are searching for potential mates online in increasing numbers. There are countless websites seeking to profit from the desire these men have to find a mate. There is definately a dark side to the business. There is an obvious power imbalance between the men and the women. There is undoubtedly dishonesty and criminality among some of the services and even some of the potential brides.
Here is an article outlining some of the problems.

Shakira Collectibles on Ebay
You know those lifesize cutouts of sexy female celebrities that Pepsi puts in gas stations and 7-elevens? I'd like to know where I can get one of those to put in the corner of my bedroom. All I could find on eBay was this toy truck with Shakira's face all over it. I think I'll pass on that. If you collect Pepsi merch obsessively, then maybe you gotta have it.

Shakira's Moves: Don't Try This at Home...or at a Bar
A New Jersey woman is suing a drinking establishment called Calico Jack's after allegedly falling and shredding ligaments in her left knee last summer during a "Shake It Like Shakira" contest.
I think bars have insurance to cover situations like this, although I doubt the wording addresses this exact eventuality. If it actually goes to court, I think the bar's lawyer should ask whather any person can climb up onto a bar and not realize that they are putting themselves at some risk of injury
