Shakira Opening Act at MTV Latin Awards

Here is a video by the Mexican artist who beat out Shakira for the top prize at the MTV Latin Awards
Shakira donned a flowing red-and-black dress for a mariachi trumpet-backed performance that got thousands of fans on their feet Thursday night to open the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America 2006.
This would turn out to be an awards show where Shakira would walk away almost empty handed. Julieta Venegas, a Tijuana native who plays accordian, took home the best singer award.
