Brain Tumor Treatment Advances

I want to quickly make a post about brain tumors and the advances that have taken place as far as treatment. Modern brain tumor treatment is more precise and focused than ever.

A new type of equipment, the Gamma Knife allows neurosurgeons to carry out brain surgery without cutting into a patient. The device emits a powerful beam of energy that effectively destroys brain tumors without the need for any invasive surgery.

Thankfully, brain tumors are relatively uncommon. I can only recall knowing one or two people who had family members with brain tumors. Unfortunately one person was an 9 year old daughter of one of my coworkers. I believe she had the best available care and had a good outcome.
