Here is a performance that can be accurately described as a spectacle. It is part of official ceremonies at the Olympics in Australia. The description on YouTube calls attention to the heavy metal electric violin.

I think the whole thing is horrible. It's like the love child of Michael Flatley and a rusty can opener. But that is just my opinion.
