A Reminder to a Boxer

A Baltimore City Police detective and his wife were struck by an oncoming car while on a motorcycle. Brother of former heavyweight boxing champion Hassim Rahman, Karim Rahman, had recently stolen the car after robbing a convenience store. Police were in pursuit at the time of the occurrence. Karim is currently serving a twenty year sentence in a Maryland prison. Karim Rahman did not contest the lawsuit that was filed against him by Ingerman & Horwitz, LLPon behalf of the Honaker Family. Rahman had no insurance at the time of the car accident and the Honaker's attorneys say that it is unlikely that any of the judgment will be collectable.

Boxer Hasim Rahman stated at his brother's sentencing that he intends to "donate a percentage of the rest of my career for family to offset some of the financial burden to the family." To date, Hassim Rahman has not contacted the Honakers or their attorneys regarding this promise.

The source of this information is a press release authored by Alan Horwitz. I think using the internet to widely disseminate this information is a forward thinking move by this lawyer. The press release is presently the fifth item on the google search page for the boxers name. Unfortunately, his first name has several common spellings. I would like to see this story at the top of the page.
