Shakira caused a stir with her Grammy performance, but the votes had been cast long before then and she was to go home empty handed. Actually, I don't know if she has time to go home. Her current world tour is still ongoing.
Were there any big Grammy surprises? Well, the Dixie Chicks won way too many statues. I like them, but it seems like they got a lot of votes that weren't about the music.

I felt as though the music industry was making a political statement rather than a musical one. The Chicks even looked surprised that they won.
