Buying and Selling Used Cars

I have been in the position a few times where I was undecided as to whether to buy a new or a used car. Used Cars are an immediate money savings, but they can be costly down the road if you buy unwisely. I am reasonable happy with my 1990 Skoda at the moment.

If you are in a situation where you haven't made up your mind whether or not to buy new or used, you need to do some market research and you don't want to physically walk into a dealership. It's only natural that a salesperson will try to influence your decision making to their advantage

BuyYourCar.co.uk is a website that believes advertising automobiles online is more than just a basic listing and picture.

Each Dealer that advertises their stock through BuyYourCar provides participating dealers with standard listings, individual listings and dedicated pages in the site.

There are also dedicated pages that list stock by make. Additionally every car also gets entered into the regional search thus enabling the user to search for cars within their local community or the vicinity.

The site also makes good use of Google Maps.

Natural listing for BuyYourCar are going through the roof in Google. The site is benefiting from great search engine placement. I think the domain name is a great advantage for them, but the focus of the site results in good natural results in Google and elsewhere.

I'm going to put on my user cap now and take the site for a test run. Just to make it hard, i am going to pretend that I am looking for a Morris Minor.

I found one quickly and easily. My coworker has a car exactly like this. My kids think it is really cool. The Traveller has real wood trim.

I just noticed a great feature when I went over to the new car page. BuyYouCar has a table of best discounts on new cars. I can't tell whether these are manually placed or automatic. This feature would be a great convenience for a car buyer who wants to come back to the site often in hopes of spotting a great deal. As we all no great deals don't last long.

13 Year Old Girls Should Not Have Web Cams

I am a parent of 13 year old girls, so I can make that statement with impunity. When I bought a camera recently, they made it clear that they wanted to borrow it to do really ridiculous things. Maybe even as ridiculous as this:

I let my kids upload animations to YouTube. They always end up removing them, I suspect this origami duet will be short lived as well.

Rumors of a Shakira /Antonio Breakup

I haven't seen the rumors in print. I have seen the existence of the rumors mentioned in print.

Shakira has been more socially active in recent weeks. I had just chalked it up to her blowing off some steam after a grueling World tour.

Shakira has been engaged for several years.

Termite Termination Time

If you have a termite problem, you need to act fast because they don't take any time off from doing the things that they do. But don't panic, they work steadily, but they work slowly. Go to the internet and form a plan of action based on good information. KillTheTermites.com has a mission that is pretty much explained in its web address. If you want to find out the history of termites or the sex life of termites, go to Wikipedia, but don't rely on the information.

Some people live in blissful denial only to discover a problem when the have a pre-sale home inspection. I have never been in a termite prone region, I saw lots of Carpenter Ants. The ants only eat rotten wood. Termites eat sound wood, the kind that keeps your house standing. If you get to a termite problem early enough the termite damage can be repaired with simple reinforcement.

Attraction

Have you ever wondered what goes on in your brain to make it so that you are not attracted to people who you can intellectually determine to be beautiful? Is the process almost the same for everyone or is it vastly different?

With ex-lovers, I think that part of the process is that our illusions have been shattered and we tend to focus on those inconsequential flaws that we didn't even see when we were in love.

I once had the terrible experience of continuing to be physically attracted to an ex. This dissipated over time, but it was painful while it lasted.

Review of FurnitureFromHome.com

Whether you have a specific and immediate need for Office Furniture or some other practical item, or you just love shopping for exquisite pieces of furniture, this Online Furniture Store is perfect for you.

It makes sense to me for a furniture site to have really good design. Furniture has been the focus of design since long before the Internet existed. They put a search box right beside the page title in the header. A search gives you a table of results and also a check list for refining your search. I really like the way this works.

I don't design websites, but I know people who build eStores and as far as I can see, FurnitureFromHome.com is about as good as it gets. I personally don't like anything too Flash heavy. And I detest those virtual guide talking head things. Give me a nice static site with a logical layout any day.

The layout is really great on FurnitureFromHome.com. The key part of the main page has images linked to featured products and sale items. To the left are tables that give you the choice of shopping by room, by item or even by color. Contact information is placed where it can't be missed. the stores toll free number is paced at the top and the middle of the page. The footer has a link to a full page of contact information.

The amount and variety of furniture is really great as well. The Sectional sofas are very trendy and work well with today's lifestyle.

When you link to a specific item on the site there is a useful list of other items that you might like

If you are in search of a good online furniture store nj based FurnitureFromHome.com fits the bill. I should mention that they have nation wide delivery as well.

Shakira on your iPhone

iPhoneLive.org can hook you up with a Shakira wallpaper for your iPhone. Assuming you can get one. Assuming you can get it activated. Assuming you can figure out how to put wallpapers on it. That's a lot of assuming and you know what they say. U and ME know that Shakira has a really nice ASS and we want an image of it on our iPhones.

Belisi is the Go To Tie Guy

I love to go look at all the great ties that
Belisi Fashions has to offer. Peter Belisi also has a lot of advice and insight on his fashion blogs.

Take a look at all the photos from Belisi on Technorati. There are models wearing his stuff. There are also somewhat candid pics showing his personal side.

If you need a great tie, or you just need the last word on how to tie one on, Belisi is your go to guy.

Plans for This Blog

I am thinking of creating original videos especially for this blog. Watching Shakira do a cover of AC/DC made me think about all the cover songs I could put up on YouTube. I do a mean Mika impression. Be afraid, be very afraid.

If I can find it I will wear a rabbit head just like the one Mika's guitarist wears.

Find Friends at Friendfinder

I haven't looked at FriendFinder for years and I was surprised at how active and functional the site was. There are so many personals sites out there these days. Besides being very well designed, FriendFinder has the great advantage of name recognition. Let's face it, having useful features and user friendliness are great, but when it comes to social sites, people go where the people are. Personally, I think MySpace is a wretchedly designed website, but it it huge simply because that is where the people went.

The search functions are incredible, even for a free member. Paid members get an even more detailed search page.

I have had online relationships. I have had the full spectrum of online relationships, for the ones where a woman asks what I do for a living as the second question (and then doesn't have a third question)....all the way to happily ever after.

What I like personally is the fact that as a free member you can have unlimited browsing of profile pictures. Call me superficial.

Meeting people using a service like FriendFinder is easy. Meeting people safely and meeting people with whom you can begin a positive relationship, that is your responsibility. I have advice for both men and women. Men should resist the urge to contact EVERY woman they possibly can. Spend time searching and when somebody really seems suitable put some thought into how you approach them. Woman should be prepared to immediately discard a big percentage of the responses they get. If a man doesn't make the effort to impress you with his response, he's is not worth your time.

Shakira Will Play at Live Earth

Live Earth is a huge event that is taking place in Hamburg Germany. Shakira will be taking part along with an impressive list of other international artists that include ENRIQUE IGLESIAS, JAN DELAY, JULI, KATIE MELUA, LOTTO KING KARL, MANÁ, MANDO DIAO, MARIA MENA, MIA, MICHAEL MITTERMEIER, REAMONN, ROGER CICERO, SAMY DELUXE, SASHA and many more.

Featuring artists that have poular followings in different regions of the World is a good strategy to guarantee a huge television audience. I was surprised to find out that Enrique Iglesias has sold more than twice as many albums as Shakira. His popularity in the USA has been sporadic, but he is practically a God in Europe and Latin America.

Fabulous Furniture

For me, looking at furniture catalogues is almost erotic. I love exquisite dark woods and rich fabrics. Coaster Furniture has classically beautiful pieces for every room in the house. HomeAndLiving.com has Coaster Furniture.

Someday I want to have a seriously boss-type desk. A cherry desk with fancy brass drawer pulls would make me feel accomplished.

I suppose I could buy an fancy desk as a way of pressuring myself to succeed. that Could backfire though. I suppose I could use the desk as a makeshift shelter if I was homeless.

Shakira's Wedding Dress

I have seen a source claiming that Shakira's future mother-in-law Inés Pertiné said that Shakira has already ordered Argentine designer María Pryor to design her wedding dress.

If this is true you can expect the gown to be tasteful and fabulous. The dress to the left was designed by her. I think it was anyway, it was on a Spanish or Portugese fashion site.

The Magnetic Diet is Attractive

The Magnetic Diet is an original nutrition concept devised by Nick Smith. He describes food magnetism as the means by which people can lose weight and achieve an incredible level of health and well being.

His book contains techniques that you can use in order to overcome cravings. They include special breathing patterns muscle toning exercises that you can do at home without special equipment.

The book also has a special meditation regimen and a very special price. IT IS FREE.

Lose weight with food magnetism, what do you have to lose, besides weight?

Is Shakira Drinking?

If People says that Shakira is drinking, I guess it must be true. Or maybe not.

I suppose her non drinking might have been imposed by her parents and, well, she is 30.

Here is a quirky AC/DC cover that she performed live. Don't expect to see it on an album anytime soon.

My Dog Has Fleas

The title of this song is the pointless sentence that my mother always said in tones that were meant to help me tune my ukele. Don't ask, I have no idea where it came from. I thought it would make a good name for a band though. If you want it, it's yours.

I once had two kittens tossed onto my lawn by a passing car. My toddlers insisted that we adopt them. As luck would have it, they were absolutely infested with cat fleas. I am so glad that there are truly effective treatments to control fleas these days.

FleasControl.com has a comprehensive rundown of your different options for controlling fleas. My advice is to jump to it as soon as you notice the problem. Unchecked flea populations tend to explode.

Shakira Getting Ink

Shakira was Miss Business for the better part of a year. Now, it seems, it is time to party. There are reports of her showing up at a Hollywood club with Penelope Cruz, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

Shakira was also said to have been dancing with Eva Longoria's future husband.

The detailed reporting of relatively tame nightclubbing by people like Shakira is a sign of Britney Spears trainwreck withdrawal in the media.

New Music Charts For Unsigned Artists

tourdates.Co.UK is happy to announce a new unsigned chart with free music downloads. I am not going to blow smoke up anyones anything about this, I'm just going to have a quick look and tell you what I think...

It's a pretty cool site. I like it. Check out this band, they are called Gossip.

Here is a press release about the unsigned chart on the site.

tourdates.Co.UK, Britains fastest growing new music website, has launched a chart for unsigned bands.

The site allows new bands to upload promotional tracks, announce gig dates and create profiles to promote themselves alongside major artists such as the Artic Monkeys and The Twang.

Tourdates Jarrod Robinson says, there are some fantastic unsigned bands in the UK and we wanted them to know how much our community likes their music, an unsigned chart seemed the perfect answer.

Chart results are announced on the site at 19:00 every sunday, the sametime as the No1 single of the week is announced on BBC's radio 1.

Does Shakira Have Sexy Feet ?

To each his own, I suppose. Most women I know are insecure to some degree about the appearance of their feet. I really am not suggesting with my image that worshiping feet is any more inappropriate than worshiping bums. Like I said, to each his own.

Shakira's feet look nice. I had never noticed them until this YouTuber pointed it out.

Be Charitable in an Effective Way

Being charitable is good. being charitable in ways that benefit your business is good and smart. The WealthSpa.com is personified by Elizabeth Potts Weinstein. She has teamed up with philanthropy expert Maggie F. Keenan to create a free teleclass to teach business owners how to give wisely. Click here to learn more or join the class. All the information related to the teleclass is in the following press release. Celebrities like Shakira tend to have it easy with creating or choosing a charity, because they are their own product. They still have to do some work to ensure that the charity has the right goals and good ethics and management, but their 'product' gets a boost directly from their connection with a feel good charity. Shakira builds schools in developing countries.

Business Owners Learn How to Give to Charity & Increase Their Profits in New Teleclass

In the new teleclass, Top 10 Mistakes Small Businesses Make With Charitable Giving, a financial expert & a philanthropic expert explain how business owners can simultaneously donate money to causes important to them and grow their businesses.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2007 -- Elizabeth Potts Weinstein, CFP®, JD, a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and attorney, and Maggie F. Keenan, Ed.D., philanthropic expert, have teamed up to offer a free teleclass teaching business owners how to avoid the top ten mistakes most business owners make when creating and launching a charitable giving program.

Weinstein, owner of The Wealth Spa, and Keenan, owner of givingadvice, have found that their small business clients were missing vital information they needed to create charitable giving programs that both changed people's lives, as well as contributed to the bottom line of their business.

Keenan explains that "there are challenges business owners never imagined with just giving to local charities -- you get caught up in wanting to help them all. Your heart is in the right place, but you just don't know how to make giving a part of your business that is successful, fulfilling and makes a difference in your business and the world."

Business owners also want information about the practical side of giving. "Business owners want to give their time and money to charity, but also want to get all the tax benefits of doing so. In this program, I explain how to take tax deductions for your giving, and how to create a responsible giving budget for your business," says Weinstein.

In the teleclass, Weinstein and Keenan will teach attendees simple strategies to make giving matter where it matters most, how to avoid mistakes that drain small business owners, which donations are taxable & where to claim them on a tax return, and how much of a business's gross revenue should spent on giving.

Weinstein and Keenan are offering this information in a teleclass format. A teleclass is a class taught virtually, over a telephone bridge line. Using the teleclass format, business owners from all over the world may attend without having to leave the comfort of their own office or home.

The teleclass is offered on July 11, 2007 at 1:00 PM EST (10:00 AM PST). For additional information about the free teleclass, go directly to http://www.thewealthspa.com/giving, or contact The Wealth Spa at (800) 752-3592.

Is Shakira still a Non-Drinker?

This video reveals more about the paparazzi than it does about Shakira. They are one pushy bunch of morons. With some other stars, you get the impression that they bring it on themselves. Kudos to both Shakira and Penelope Cruz for being cool under pressure and for being beautiful.

Perez Hilton implied that Shakira is out partying almost every night. I am curious as to whether she still says no thanks to alcohol. I will assume that she doesn't drink until I see proof to the contrary.

Celebrity Gossip

So, this is a bit of a coincidence. Shakira is causing some hollywood gossip on the very day that I discovered the new website called CelebrityGossip.com. I am going to have to see if they talk about her.

Yes, the news of Shakira and Penelope Cruz partying together is there, as well as the rumor that Penelope is going to be Shakira's Bridesmaid. I really like the look of CelebrityGossip.com. This site brings together the latest celebrity gossip from the most popular sources and organizes them by topic. Users who join can rate story and comment on them. I was a bit perturbed that the writer for TMZ made a comment about Shakira getting fashion tips from Britney. I might go make a comment on the CelebrityGossip.com section for that story.

I followed the link to Perez Hilton's take on the same story. He had nothing bad to say about the way Shakira was dressed but he said that she has been partying a lot lately. Dude, when you see somebody at the club almost everynight, where are you? oh yeah that's right, you're AT THE CLUB TOO !!! Let she who is without sin cast the first cocktail umbrella.

Shakira is Actually Acting Like a Celebrity

TMZ has a video of Shakira out on the streets of Hollywood, hanging out with Penelope Cruz. They even have Shakira and Britney mentioned in the same paragraph. They were talking about fashion choices rather than mental state.

The sight of these two big names together out on the town has sparked a rumor that Penelope is going to be part of Shakira's wedding party.

If you want to see the paparazzi video, go check out TMZ.

Score Summer Camps

This post could not possibly be made at a more appropriate time. My 13 year old kids are driving me crazy as we speak. They came home early because today is the day that students are tested for the speaking and listening part of their language courses. They are taking French.

Soon school will be over and the children will be bored teenagers sitting around the house constantly disrupting my efforts to have a productive home office.

I am searching for options with which to fill their days with useful activity OUTSIDE of the home. Summer Camps look like a great option.

Score 30 sounds especially convenient. A parent pays for 30 one hour sessions and they can schedule them in any way they choose. You could send them for several hour per day for a few weeks, or spread it out over the entire summer. I like having the option of having the education sessions broken up by a few family fun days here and there.

Peace on Earth

I think I finally understand why John Lennon had the little kids sing the line "War is over, if you want it" so many times in a row.

At the time I thought it was a typical call for political activism. The kind of activism where young people who think tha stopping war is their thing try to make enough noise to get the leadres of democratic countries to listen.

I am starting to realize now that he was speaking to EVERYONE and that it really is true. War mongering despots don't kill people, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE. OK, some World leaders have personally killed a few people, but for the most part they get others to do the dirty work.

What would happen if everyday people all over the World decided of one accord to just stop killing each other?

I have never killed another human being. I have paid taxes that paid the salaries of some soldiers and policeman who have killed some people.

ScreenDig

I can see a lot of potential in ScreenDig. This site plays host to member who can make pages about their favorite TV shows or Movies. The TV show pages are having the most activity at the moment. There are even pages about old favorites like Seinfeld.

Users are given a 50% share of ad revenue from the site. I used to have similar ads running on this site. The revenue adds up over time. I really should put some back on here.

Help Find Maddie !!! Madeleine McCann

There a many different videos uploaded to YouTube that all have the same purpose. Madeleine McCann was abducted from a hotel room in Portugal and millions of people are doing what they can in the hopes that she will be returned unharmed to her loving family.

Embedding this video on this blog is one of the things that I can do. Happy endings in cases like this are not unheard of. Do not be hesitant to report any suspicious situations involving children to the police.

Playlists For Free

myplaylistpicture playlistmusic playlist

I like free music. I bought some cassettes of old music for 10 cents each. The playlists on Freemusic.Myplaylist.biz are more current and ther is none of that screechy old tape noise. If these things load well I am going to be using them a lot. I might even join and make some playlists of my own.

And Now For Something Completely Different: Mika Singing Hips

Here is a BBC appearance featuring Mika doing a cover of Hips Don't Lie. I like it, but it is far from perfecto, listen for his laugh as he flubs the words on the second or third verse. Given the adoration this man gets from young girls, I predict that he is not going to come out for many years to come. Heck, he might not even be homosexual. Mika shifts quite easily between the two parts of this duet.

Spy Sweeper

I think a computers vulnerability to spyware is largely related to usage patterns. I generally stick to informational and entertainment websites and I don't usually have much of a problem. My son, on the other hand is a gaming freak and he usually has so much stuff downloaded on his laptop that he doesn't even have enough free space to properly defragment his hard drive.

He had a total spyware onslaught with his desk top a few years ago. At the time, we weren't even acutely aware of the risk involved with spyware. These bits of software that you unknowingly download along with stuff that you really do want can slow things to a crawl or stop them altogether. That is not their intention. They want your computer to provide information. Somebody, somewhere then gets paid for handing your information to somebody else.

At first, we just thought my son's third hand computer was just a piece of crap. I was then assigned the task at work of regularly running a spyware sweeper on my work computer and I realized that we needed it at home as well. I had a few bits of malware on my PC. Every computer in the house did. The number on my son's computer was staggering. If I remember correctly, I think he had about 600 objects.

If my post has you starting to question the state of your PC, the Webroot Spy Sweeper might be the answer. It is a lot better than the software I initially resorted to years ago. I guess you could say my old software was like an ER and Spy Sweeper is that, but also great preventative medicine. It can detect and actively block spyware allowing you to download with more confidence.

Natural Skin Care

I am pleased to be able to help spread the word about Whole Foods Market. This natural and organic foods supermarket now has a podcast series all about natural health alternatives.

This months podcast is on the topic of "Natural Skin Care". I was actually blogging about this subject on an environmental blog that I have started. I was researching on ways to reduce my plastic consumption and I found out that many commercial body scrubs contain tiny plastic beads as an exfoliant. These beads go down the drain and contribute to water pollution.

The focus of the podcasts is more on the benefits of all natural products on out skin. They urge people to read the ingredients on their purchases and to try and choose natural alternatives.

I noticed two ingredients in the podcast info that I have growing in my neighborhood. One is bergamot and the other is borage. Bergamot is the citrus fruit pictured above, it is used for Earle Grey Tea as well as treating acne prone skin.

Shakira is Beautiful

I have a guest blogger writing my titles for me. His name is Captain Obvious. You may have read some of his biting criticism on YouTube comments. He outed AAGM's William Sledd. He questioned Paris Hilton's virtue. He pointed out that the baby playing the guitar really wasn't very good at it. I gave him a part time job out of pity. I just wish he would stop wearing that stupid cape around the office.

A Tie is Still a Good Choice for Father's Day

I got my father a really classic looking tie for Christmas last year. I haven't really thought about Father's Day yet. This particular day always sneaks up on me. I always feel like I am doing a real public service when I write these buzz posts about fashion or flowers or jewelry leading up to special occasions. I figure that there is a chance that I might help somebody remember an occasion and avert some kind of negative experience that might result from forgetting. Valentine's Day is the most important one to remember.

Father's are the easiest people to shop for, in my opinion. All families are different, maybe you have a father that is hard to please. I wonder how many ties I have bought my father over the years. It's kind of silly in a way because he is a farmer and he probably wears a tie less than once a week on average. He does wear one to church occasionally and he is a director of some associations. He does have a use for a few ties. I think he could probably get by with what he has for the next 30 years.

I think the biggest problem that a lot of sons and daughters have on Father's Day is that many fathers have a tendancy to not need very much and to already have the things that they do need.

A tie is an ideal present, especially when it is tasteful. Novelty gets old fast. If your dad is like mine and only wears a tie for at most a few hours per week, something silly just isn't going to cut it. Maybe if your are the sone or daughter of a junior high school english teacher or an eccentric CEO, something funny might be a good present. I get my dad ties that have rich traditional colors and simple elegant patterns. Belisi has lots of those.

Here is some Father's Day Help From Belisi.
Finding the Right Gift for Father’s Day May Not Be as Hard as You Think

Give a Gift Dad Will Remember…Luxurious, Stylish, and Thoughtful

PALM BEACH , FLORIDA– (MAY 15, 2007) --Okay, so Father’s Day is right around the corner. Wondering what to get Dad? Neckties are often times considered the “stand-by” gift for guys but not anymore. More and more Dads are putting their best fashion foot forward with colorful neckties, as they know this simple accessory can make or break an outfit. Whether you are looking for the red power tie or sophisticated yet casual, there is a tie for every occasion. Give Dad a gift he will remember, something he can wear and treasure for years to come. Dad will feel extra special this year with a beautiful Italian necktie or pocket square from Belisi. With each Father’s Day purchase at Belisi, customers will receive free shipping with their orders. To qualify for free shipping, customers should visit Belisi.com.

Belisi ties are made with more silk per inch than the average tie, which creates a fuller necktie knot, the hallmark of true luxury silk neckties. They come in a variety of colors and styles, so it’s easy to select a thoughtful gift that any father would appreciate.

Pocket squares, which are making a big comeback, also make excellent Father's Day gifts. Belisi pocket squares are oversized, made with a lavish thick silk and hand-rolled on the border. So if you want to give a unique gift for that special guy in your life, a Pocket Squares fits the bill. Another reason ties are still a fresh gift idea is that men can wear ties that accessorize with their partner’s silk scarf, which she can wear tied around her neck or draped around her shoulders as a shawl, tied on her wrist, worn as a belt or handbag accessory or in her hair (a very hot trend right now).

Belisi Fashions remains steadfast in giving back to those less fortunate. Through the “Belisi Luxury with Meaning” program a minimum of 10 percent of the company’s pre-tax profits are donated to those in need. Keeping in-line with Belisi’s mission to create a community within a community, customers decide which charity to make their contribution. Some of the charities include: Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association, and 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com.

Belisi was built on the philosophy that a tie or a scarf is more than an article of clothing—it completes your look. “There are plenty of Web sites where you can buy accessories but few where you feel like you’re a part of a fashion community,” affirms Peter Belisi of Belisi Fashions.

The Belisi brand is flourishing, and anticipates the release of its new luxury handbag collection in Fall ’07. As with all Belisi products, the handbag collection will feature extraordinary detailing including real gold hardware, soft treated Italian leather and brushed fabrics, plus many other exclusive features only available through www.Belisi.com.

Ummm.... ¿que pasa?

This appears to be an interview with Shakira. The interviewer appears to be a giant mouse puppet. I am reminded of the guy in the bee costume on the Simpsons. I have always wondered what they did with those scenes in the Spanish dubbed version of the Simpsons. I have seen the Simpsons in four or five different languages. The German one bothers me. Homer sounds too smart.

The Police Still Rock !!!

Win a New York fly-away to see The Police live.

There is an incredible greatest hits police cd out now and the band are out on a huge arena tour to support it. After spending two decades as a seminal pop band, these guys parted ways to pursue their own endeavors. A couple of one-off shows in recent years sparked a renewed interest in working as a band and a summer long tour is the benefit that the fans are reaping. The Police were successful because they spoke to both the heart and the mind of listeners. They drew from influences around the World like reggae, punk and rock and created a unique sound that is still imitated by truckloads of bands today.

My favorite song has to be Synchronicity II. It is considered by many as the heaviest track ever made by this band and is definitely the heaviest thing on the new police cd. I think it has had a lasting hold on me because I sort of grew into it. When I first heard it as a kid it was catchy and moody, but I didn't identify with the stressed out modern family guy in the song.

I managed to hold it together much better than the guy in the song. I think the sea creature in my chorus is a manatee.

Shakira 'Attached' to Movie

Shakira's management has denied that Shakira is set to costar in an upcoming movie. despite this, her name remains on the data at IMDb.com for Dare to Love Me.

Here are my thoughts on the subject. My thoughts are not verified. My thoughts are not properly cited.

Maybe Shakira is a big enough star that she has final approval on the script and there have had to be numerous rewrites related to her role. Maybe IMDb is becomeing as unreliable as Wikipedia. I personally know people who have created their own IMDb pages cataloging their own barely mentionable accomplishments. The movie is a biopic of Carlos Gardel.

Pingo Saves You Money on International Calls

The close family ties that Shakira has inspired me to check the phone rates between her new digs in the Dominican Republic and her home town in Colombia. With the Pingo online phone card, you can call Dominican Republic from Colombia today for only 25.9¢ per minute.

I'm sure she doesn't worry about rates too much, but many people are living far away from their immediate and/or extended families as an economic necessity. Phone communications still seem to carry the most emotional portent despite all the other digital communications available these days. I'm sure there are millions of people like me who have parents who still don't have internet access. I'm happy because my mom has a nice neighbor to whom I can email pictures. I still phone her twice a week to keep in touch.

Pingo is a Global Calling Card. They have a reliable network. This is important. When I moved away in 2005, I tried a couple of cheap calling cards that were very unreliable. It was frustrating for me, and I felt awful about frustrating the people that I was calling. If I had needed to make business calls at the time, the service simply would not have been adequate.

If you refer a friend to Pingo, you can get $5 USD worth of calls for free. An instant calling card from Pingo just makes sense.

What a Crowd

Go to Shakira.com and look at the picture of the crowd at the Mexico City concert. Even if you were there you will be amazed at what 200,000+ people in and around a space meant for 100,000 people looks like from a distance.

It looks kinda like this:

Despite the overcrowding, there were very few incidents of injuries or inappropriate behavior.

the concert broke attendance records for the city. It was a free concert.

New Police CD is Comprehensive

The Police have created music that has affected more than one generation of people. When the reunion tour that is happening right now started to generate buzz in the blogosphere, I was SHOCKED to see a lone voice that claimed to have never heard of The Police. After I recovered from my shock, I realized that the fact that only one 20 year old girl drew a blank said more in the band's favor than against them.

How many other bands who started in the 1970's have the same level of relevance?

I spent the first half of my life in an isolated part of Canada. The Police, like most really big bands, played Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver only when they toured Canada. Sting and his wife made an unscheduled landing at the Halifax International Airport as the result of a medical emergency. This was understandably not the best of circumstances and he was quoted in the local papers as being a bit nonplussed with the area. God Forsaken was the term he used, and I think some locals took it the wrong way. I thought he was just being apt.

The band is embarking on a huge World tour and they have released all their hits on a new police cd. It is probably the most comprehensive tracklist to ever encapsulate the creative life of this band. I have a hard time choosing a favorite track. I like the music for Message in a Bottle quite a lot, but the actual messages in other songs like Syncronicity II really stand out as profound.

I did get to see the band after I was all grown up and spending some time with family in Toronto. Many of the songs that I remember them playing at The Police Picnic on the CNE grounds are on the new police cd. I remember them stopping for a 'tea' break, yeah right. I enjoyed my tea as well. I wonder if Peter Tosh was pushing the tea trolley around backstage?

Vanity

The concept of sin is perverted in pop culture. The notion of PRIDE being a sin has largely gone by the wayside. LUST is the favorite sister of GREED because of how many records it can sell.

VANITY it another of the Deadly Sins. I do not have that much to say about it. I do find it interesting that the Peacock is the common symbol for vanity, when in reality, the peacock's display is often a form of self defense.

Insurance is Like a Safety Net

I think most songwriters go through a phase of using the occasional circus reference. Some painters fall into the trap of drawing sad clowns. On rare occasions, a songwriter will even write a song about a painting of a sad clown.

It was inevitable that I would one day make a blog post that uses circus metaphors. The devil-may-care red-neck driving around the roads without car insurance is like a tight rope walker without a net. The circus performer may be a little bit more aware of the risk because of the obvious visible cues, and the audience reactions.

With a driver who has an uninsured accident, there is a good chance that someone in the audience is going to get hurt. That sucks. When there is insurance, a drivers liability can be taken care of.

The Thrifty Scot has some very practical tips on his site. Using lower Insurance premiums as an incentive to quit smoking seems like a great idea.

Insuring your downloaded music seems a bit ridiculous to me. I suppose if you were a DJ it might make sense. I would rather chalk it up to fate if they were destroyed. I would take up whistling.

Reading the article about parking lot accidents brought back stressful memories. I was driving a brand new car that I had borrowed and this kid in the back seat of a car next to me in a fast food restaurant slammed his door into mine. His mother yelled at him causing him to inexplicably close his door and do it AGAIN. To top things off, the whole family then proceeded into the restaurant as if nothing had happened. I sat and gathered my thoughts for a few minutes before going in and insisting on getting their insurance information. It was my parents new car, so I really had to be a stickler. My parents ended up not bothering with the repair.

Hammocks Rock, No Socks Required

I miss my hammock. I am thinking it might be time to get a new one. They last for a very long time if they are properly cared for. I technically still have one, except it is in a cabin in another country. I gave my sister the key to the cabin so she could enjoy the place and check in on it from time to time.

My hammock actually has seen a lot of different places. I had used it as a backyard hammock originally. It is one of those cotton hammocks, so I had to take it down during periods of bad weather. I didn't get to relax as much as I had planned because I had two young kids that always wanted to get in the hammock. Whenever we couldn't find their shoes in the summer, the first place I would look was under the hammock.

HammocksRock.com is a great informational site. I learned about some new products there.

My friends and I used to go camping back when I was younger and I remember spending most of one Sunday just lazing around beside a lake in one of those camping hammocks strung up between two trees. You can get them fitted with a mosquito net.

I moved to a place without many trees, so my next hammock will have to include a hammock stand. I hope I can find one that folds up to fit in my small car.

Is the Shakira Tour Finally Over?

I hope the poor girl doesn't burn out on us. Although if you look elsewhere in the pop music world, apparently you can become a total burnout with out singing at all.

I would expect either a confirmation or a firm denial in relation to the wedding rumors soon. But what I really expect to hear from Shakira in the next few weeks is NOTHING. She needs to rest.

My Favorite Phone From Wirefly

If you want to find out what the most popular phone is at any given time, you can usually find an up to date list at Wirefly.com. They are the #1 online mobile phone retailer and they know that popularity is in some respects a self perpetuating thing. Personally, I don't want the MOST popular phone. I'm sure it has really great features and styling, but I just don't want to have a phone that is commonplace. I guess some people share my view, hence the continuous changeover in what is trendy. Of course, a cell phone is more than just an accessory, for most of us at least. It is a tool that we use in our everyday lives. We aren't going to abandon useful features in favor of the latest popular color. I am going to stop typing for a few minutes while I peruse the latest offerings at Wirefly.

The top three most popular models all come in several different colors but my favorite has got to be the Nokia XpressMusic Black. After seeing a friend carrying around his flip phone in two pieces, I am thinking that I will go straight to a slider with my next phone. I'm not sure what the term is for the one that I have now...brick?

World Music Sampler #11

Some contrast for you. Cape Breton is an island on the East Coast of Canada that is home to people who hold fast to Old World Traditions. And there are the inevitable outliers who break with tradition in almost every sense while still taking something of the tradition as they go to an entirely new place. The two fiddlers are Buddy MacMaster and Ashlee MacIsaac.

The Old Man and the Sea

If you need some evidence that boats are exposed to harsh conditions, just go down to any port of call and look at an old man.

Sun, rain, saltwater spray, it all takes a toll on your cherished vessel. A boat cover can minimize the effect that the elements have on your boat. I have lived in two coastal areas that had very different climates. In one place covers were used to keep out the rain and snow and in the other, much nicer place, the sun is the main enemy. I like shielding stuff from the sun more.

Bayliner is a huge company that makes boat covers to fit many standard shapes and sizes of craft. Of course, some boats aren't standard. You might have a quaint antiquated craft or a cutting edge prototype that you want to protect (maybe even from the curious). For these you may need to have a custom cover made to order.

Songwriter Salagado Has Been Shot

A man who has written and co-written songs for Shakira and a hots of other latin stars has been shot in his home and is possibly in a near death situation.

His attacker had come to the house to sell marijuana to Fabio Alonso Salgado, who was shot around 11:30 p.m. Friday. He has gunshot wounds in the chest and on the back of the head. Police say that Salgado was able to identify his attacker in a photo.

Salgado has penned tracks for Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias and Julio Iglesias.

The shooter is in jail in Miami.

Dehumidifiers

I need to get a dehumidifier. My leather jacket keeps growing stuff on it. Dehumidifiertips.com can help people like me figure out what size dehumidifier to buy for my house.

I already have some experience with dehumidifiers. I used to be a Fair Trade Coffee roaster. Unroasted coffee is a hard green seed that can be stored for a year or two and without losing flavor. The catch is this is under ideal conditions of 20 degrees celsius and 50% humidity. Part of my job was to monitor these factors and take steps to maintain the best conditions.

It made sense to go with portable dehumidifiers and humidifiers because I could clean one appliance and put it into storage before it was time to bring the other one out. I would run a humifier all winter and a dehumifier all summer.

One dehumidifier feature that I appreciated when we moved to a bigger storage room was a garden hose attachment so I could divert the water into a drain instead of the reservoir. Most units automatically shut off when the reservoir is full.

I would suggest that you think about dehumififying your home because molds have been shown to be the cause of a lot of illness. It's easier to make your house inhospitable to molds than it is to get rid of them, once they take hold. Dehumidifiertips.com is a great place to start planning your war on mold.

Skakira Gives Herself Away

Shakira performed in front of 210,000 happy Mexicans who didn't pay one peso.

Shakira has been very effusive about her love of the place and the people.

"This has been a month of absolute joy. I have fed off you, and I leave with my heart full."

I think a lot of people in the country of Mexico needed something fun and positive after some of the political and social turmoil that has gone on in recent months.

When Eye Surgery Goes Wrong

Laser eye surgery is becoming more and more popular as an elective surgery. A very small percentage of patients will suffer some kind of Lasik Complications. The fact is that a small percentage of millions of people equals, well lots of people. ComplicatedEyes.org is a site that is reaching out to those people.

I haven't had any elective surgeries in a while but I can tell you that the Internet is now my first source for medical information. I guess the last time I was frantically searching for information about a medical problem was when my daughter was badly stung by a jellyfish.

The ComplicatedEyes.org offers referral services in addition to information. The site was founded by a patient advocate by the name of Glenn Hagele.

ReButtal

I like big butts. Given this undeniable fact, you can imagine that I am glad that singers like Shakira and Beyonce are gaining popularity.

A decade ago, I had to try to like Jennifer Lopez because she was just about the only prominent artist with a prominent posterior.

And that is all I have to say about that.

Get a FREE Bluetooth with your T-Mobile Phone

Wirefly.com is your #1 online source for T-Mobile phones. They have the most popular phones and the best service providers. Something I really like about there online store is the way you can key in you zip code so that when you are browsing you get to choose between the packages that you are actually eligable for. Nothing sucks worse than thinking that you can get a great deal and then finding out that you can't have it because you don't live in the right area.

Do you want something more than great products and great customer service? If you need some kind of offer to pull you over to Wirefly, listen to this. You can choose from a wide selection of phones and packages that come with a FREE Bluetooth headset.

This Motorola Cherry Blossom Tattoo is very cute and it come with MyFaves. I expect this design to become very popular.

Personally, I'd much rather have this XpressMusic . It is loaded with features for such a compact phone. I have pretty much decided not to get a serious smart phone. This might be a nice compromise, a little bit smart and a lot of fun.

I am pretty sure that your favorite phone is at WireFly.

Do Celebrities Have Friends?

I honestly don't know if Shakira has friends. She brings her parents with her on her tours. If I remember correctly, her sister is her tour manager. From what I have been able to piece together, she keeps things quite professional with most of her entourage.

She may keep in touch and socialize with a select group of friends. Maybe she is like me and she has her lover as her best friend.

I have heard about other celebrities who make friends with their staff and then fire them for personal reasons. that is kind of stupid.

I felt sorry for all the press that Lance Armstrong and Matthew McConaughey got when they were doing the buddy thing. Isn't it possible that they were just friends?

A Cool Trickster Site

I just spent the last few minutes feeling completely lost at Trickster Online. There is so much going on on this site. It is amazing.

The trickster forums are very active and most of what is going on is very positive and fun.

The way that I figured out what this communiyt was all about was by refering to the trickster wiki. Complexity is part of the attaction that people have to Trickster. The story of Trickster starts with the convoluted will of a very over the top billionaire name Don Cavalier. Last part of his last will and testament is "Puhahahahaha!!!". That should give you an indication of how the guy rolled. His estate was destined to go to a successful competitor of 'Trickster' which was to happen on a Pacific island.

On an Island in the Sun...

The island that Shakira bought with other musical stars like Roger Waters is supposed to become a site of construction soon.

There is excellent anchorage for luxury yachts around this very private retreat.

Which celebrities like the Super Yachts? Beyonce and Jay Z have been seen chartering a luxury boat. P. Diddy mostly sticks close to St Tropez with his floating bling

People like Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, Paul McCartney, Shaquille O'Neal, Celine Dion, Bill Clinton, Alex Rodriguez, Heidi Klum, Eminem and Dr. Dre may not have that much in common with Shakira other than solvency and a resistance to sea sickness.

It's My Market

When you want or need to look at some free classifieds, you probably want them to be local.

ItsMyMarket.com is a great site that serves a large portion of the UK. When you arrive at the landing page, you can type the first part of your post code into a box and once you enter that, the site automatically tailors your results to match your location.

It makes a lot of sense whether you are looking for a used bicycle or a lover, you don't want to be traipsing all the way across the country just to be disappointed by slack tyres or a shabby seat or whatever else could be wrong.

Ethical Finance Products

The choices we make with our money can be as much of a force for positive change as any vote we can cast. Think about it, we are making money decisions every day, most of us only get to vote every few years.

Co-operativeBank.co.uk is bound by a very exacting code of conduct, so you know that you can do business with them without worrying about what polluter or human rights abuser you might be bankrolling.

Online loan services from this business are competitive with less ethical entities.

They are proud to say that they have turned away over 10 million pounds of business that was not up to their strict ethical standards.

Beatles Music on iTunes?

I haven't heard anything final yet. I have heard rumors that there is supposed to be a deal in the works between Apple and the owners of the rights to the Beatles' recordings.

I had a little phase of listening to Beatles music online a few years back. I didn't even know that it wasn't a legal source for the music at the time.

Subliminal Recordings

If you want help with quiting smoking, or changing your eating habits, or just about any other personal improvement you can think of Subliminal-CDs.com has a recording that can quietly motivate you to succeed at whatever it is that you want to do.

They have an interesting statement on their landing page. They say that all outer change begins as inner change.

They have over 120 subliminal CDs that fall into 13 categories. You could listen to a brain boosting CD on the bus ride to school. You could listen to the claustrophobia curing CD while you are waiting for someone to let you back out of your locker. You could listen to the Improve your Dance Skills CD while you are sitting with the other wallflowers at the noon hour sock hop. You could listen to a CD about salesmanship while you are out selling cookies door to door...

...Wait a second, you aren't some cheese eating high school kid... Why not check out the Ultimate Sexual Skills CD? There is something for everyone at this site.

World Music Sampler #???

Sometimes people start making jokes about instruments that aren't currently popular. What is truly funny is how they seem to inevitably regain the favor of popular musicians. There was that great banjo riff in a Nellie Furtado hit. Before that there was the accordion in a big Aerosmith release. I don't know if this particular instrument will ever be featured in anything more mainstream than a cough drop commercial.

Custom Car Seat Covers

I couldn't enter the contest to win the SEAT sports car that Shakira customized. I know if I had entered and won this car with the beautiful paint job and the autograph, the first thing I would do would be to buy a set of these high quality Custom Car Seat Covers.

OverTheTop.co.uk has a great name and great products for your car or even for your sitting room furniture. Even if you have a rare car with odd sized seats, you can call them to get custom covers made to your exact specs. I have been looking at an old Moke. I don't think any standard sizes would work for those seats.

World Music Sampler #??

I have seriously neglected my World Tour of music. I will try to get going on it again. I love musical instruments. Thumb pianos are really cool. My daughter has one that she bought from Ten Thousand Villages, which is a business that provides craftspeople in developing countries with a fair price for their products.

This guy is awesome. I once spent a few hours using an old headlight as a thumb piano.

iPod Video Converter

This is a cool new bit of technology PQDVD.com enables users to convert any DVD format movie to an iPod movie.

The technology is a bit complicated, but luckily somebody smart recognized the broad appeal that the application would have, so they made using it simple. I think its cool when new technologies are given control panels that mimic the look and functionality of older technologies. I think this is one of those cases, the reformatted movie that is the end product of the conversion can just be dropped into an iTunes library.

Tax Havens For Celebrities

When I first heard about Shakira's island property all I thought was "Must be nice."

More recently I was starting to wonder if Shakira is investing in a country that she may choose as a residence for the purpose of minimizing her tax burden. I do not know anything about how Colombia taxes it's citizens. Colombia ranks 55th out of 158 countries in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index for 2005.

Shakira's large scale charity work has no doubt exposed her to more government red tape than the average person.

Even if Shakira's choice of a home is related to taxation, at least she is close to her family and her charity work. Shania Twain moved to Switzerland.

How to Seduce a Celebrity

Ok, the title of this post is a bit misleading. I have no idea How to Seduce a Celebrity. This post is about a truly unique online reality program. The key ingredients are: one beautiful and charming celebrity, countless online suitors and unprecedented audience participation.

I am just going to go ahead and let Mirelly Taylor, known for such movies as Kiss Me Again and Serving Sara and television shows including 'Las Vegas', 'Punk’d', and 'Numb3rs', give you the gist of the show. Here she is on one of the many Free videos at GoFish.com:

Oops, that was also Andrew Firestone, he is an important part of the show as well. You may recognize him from 'The Bachelor'.

I have known about this online contest for a date with a celebrity for about 24 hours and I have spent a couple of those hours checking out Mirelly online. I like her. She reminds me a little bit of Julia Louise Dreyfus and a little bit of Penelope Cruz. I am glad to see that she gets to make the final choice from the three video suitors who get the most user votes.

The shows producers have devised some video tasks that Mirelly presents to the competitors on the channel. Any GoFish.com user can then vote for their favorite uploaded response.

Shakira Finally Getting Married, Maybe

There is a report that Shakira and her LONGTIME fiance will get married in the Dominican Republic in September. All the talk can be traced back to a mantion of the story on a Latin Celebrity radio show.

I know some people who write copy for radio shows. If I was one of these people and the idea of mistakenly announcing Shakira's wedding plans entered my head in a weak moment, I might just run with it. I'm sure it will be good publicity for the program.

Shakira owns a luxury home in the DR.

Air Ambulances Save Lives

I have sat thinking about how much has changed in recent history with regard to medical science. Many accidents and illnesses that a few generations ago meant certain death are not even that much of a concern anymore.

I have marvelled at the incredible advances in transportation technology that has taken place over the last few generations. Sometimes I wish that we had Star Trek style transporters, but safe commuter jets are still pretty neat.

You know I think about what computer technology communications technology have done to change our world.

A website and an air ambulance company like AirAmbulance.net brings all these advances to bear on the job of saving lives. Scenarios like air lifting a downed US Marshall from a Texas ranch to an expert surgeon in a hospital in California, or rushing a donated heart from an accident victim in Arizona to a transplant recipient in New York...these are the kind of things that can be done. With regards to accidents, whether they are traffic related, or industrial, getting to a hospital as quickly as possible may be vital to the victims survival.

The website AirAmbulance.net serves as an invaluable information hub for air ambulance services in the USA. They operate a dispatch center in Miami and they have been in this vital business since 1984 without incident. Hospitals, government departments, nursing homes and others use them to charter bith domestic and international flights with qualified emergency medical staff and state of the art equipment on board.

I Had Lice

I may have had head lice. I'm really not sure. When I found out that my children had them I shaved my head.

Shakira comforted a Colombian schoolgirl recently by empathizing with her case of headlice. Shakira also made it clear that she was opposed to the use of toxic insecticides to treat the lice.

She was wrong about what the best treatment options are. A LiceMeister comb and regular dosings with conditioner are most effective.

Fan Fiction About Furniture

When I start to get bored while I am watching a video, I often start looking at the furniture and decor that is on the screen...

There's Britney doing a lame rip-off of a Cabaret dance...yawn...that is a really nice chair, I wonder who designed that chair.

There's Paris Hilton...what is that, a regular king size bed or a California king? That bedroom set looks familiar, I think I've been in that hotel before...

Here's Shakira singing underneath your clothes...what's that underneath her butt? a nice leather sofa.

I vaguely remember the MTV series The Newlyweds. I think I spent most of the time looking at the furniture. The living room furniture lasted a lot longer than the marriage.

Don't even get me started on Cribs. The bedroom furniture and living room furniture that celebrities use to fill their empty lives is just so lavish. I have seen some interesting parodies of Cribs on YouTube, they are easy to find because Viacom makes sure that all the clips of the real show are removed promptly. Here's a short screenplay for a fictional episode of Cribs:
Generic Minor Celebrity: Yo, welcome to my house. I'm going to take you on a 22 minute tour during which I will show you all the expensive things that I have placed at random in my expensive home.

Here is my foyer. Before I became exceedingly rich, I had never heard the word foyer. Wait, there was that one time, this doorman yelled at me "Hey you! You can't sleep here in this foyer!" After I became a superstar I went back and I bought that building. I fired the doorman and I had the building demolished...except for the foyer. I had it reassembled as an addition to this house. It's my master bedroom. Take that mean and nasty out of work doorman!!!

Anyway, come on up to the bedroom, I have a painting I want to show you...

My Poor Attempts at Blogging

I was posting fairly often about Shakira's World tour, but I stopped recently because I thought it was over. In fact, it was only her European dates that were finished. SEAT the Spanish automaker was only promoting the European dates and I based my assumption that the tour was over on their press release. Shakira will give a concert in Mexico shortly. I can imagine that date will be a rocking good time.

About Belisi Fashions
The Belisi brand is the brainchild of Peter Belisi, whose lifelong
aspirations were to fuse the luxury and prestige of Palm Beach with Italian
sophistication. Belisi embodies the spirit of true entrepreneurship with a
passion for the best of everything, which is evident in the quality
products produced. Each dramatic detail in a Belisi tie, pocket square and
scarf represents Belisi's unwavering commitment to creating fashion
products that embody timeless sophistication and enduring beauty.
Peter Belisi is loyal to his community and remains steadfast in giving
back to those in need, never forgetting his roots and the journey that led
him to where he is today. Through the "Belisi Luxury with Meaning" program,
a minimum of 10 percent of the company's pre-tax profits are donated to
those in need. Thus keeping in-line with Belisi's mission to create a
community within a community, customers decide which charity to make their
contribution. Some of the charities include: Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer
Foundation, American Heart Association, and 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com.

I am always happy to post stuff about Peter Belisi and his burgeoning fashion enterprise. The above press release leaves me with precious little to talk about. I might be in an interesting position as far as recognizing the melding of American and European styling in his accessories. I moved from North America to Southern Europe a couple of years ago. There is no Gap in my town. Many of the casual fashion stores are Italian chains. We had a function recently that we had anticipated as having a dress code and I was told that none of my pants were suitable by my wife. I had stocked up with four or five pairs of my favorite jeans before moving and had never up to that point bought pants in Europe. Actually, they call them trousers here, but thanks to the tourist trade they know what I am talking about if I accidentally say pants. They call men's underwear panties. I am never going to get used to that. Anyway, I thought I had chosen a good pair of pants. My wife let me wear them out for the evening but has vetoed them henceforth because the fit is so different that it disturbes her. I don't look like me to her.

Ties and purses look more or less the same on both sides of the Atlantic. Italian styling really is an absolute of sorts. I especially like some of the intricately patterned fabrics that Belisi has chosen for his ties.

Encyclopedia Central

EncyclopediaCentral.com is another site that is melding the best aspects of the encyclopedia model and the business directory model. Articles on Self Improvement are quite varied, talking about everything from toothpicks to air guns. I guess by the broadest definition, if you have something caught in your teeth and you use a toothpick to remove it you are improving yourself, and if you have a gun, who is going to say otherwise?

I learned something that I had not known in the gadgets and gizmos section. I remember my uncles old mobile phone from before cell phones. I did not know that it was actually using VHF waves. Now I do, thanks EncyclopediaCentral.com.

I read the whole article about Bird Flu. It was quite interesting and it was published in 2001, so this site has been around for some time.

Oh ,Yeah, Shakira and Beyonce are #1

I haven't even bothered watching the music charts. It was pretty much a given that this duet would spend time at #1 on the pop charts. Two weeks is a good run, I would expect it will be replaced at the top by something else soon.

I was actually slightly disappointed with the song. I guess I just had high expectations. It is a solid pop duet, executed flawlessly. Maybe that's why it leaves me a bit cold. It's too polished. The video is probably what is driving the success. These women are hot.
